RGN Combat

Below is an example of how we intend to implement email-based RGN combat. This type of gaming is very open and trusting, for the advanced gamer who wants a pure experience and is not going to “cheat.”


Combat Log:
PA Move, cast a zone spell
PB Move, range attack m7 (miss)
PC Move, melee attack m4 (hit), cast zone of defense
PD Defensive action
PE Move, range attack at M4 (hit), Healing Word on PD

Interrupt Conditions:
First person that moves away from PD gets attacked by his fighter ability

Auras and Zones:
Aura a: some ability by PC that gives +2 AC to allies
Zone z: some ability by PA that reduces enemy movement by 1 additional square
Combo 1: Aura a and Zone z

Standard Map key:
Player characters are two letters, all cap.
Minions are one lower case letter denoting type, followed by a number.
Standard monsters are one capital letter denoting type, followed by a number.
Significant enemies are two letters, cap followed by lower case.
Difficult terrain is d in the lower left corner.
Impassable terrain is X’ed out.
Auras are a in the lower right corner, a second aura on the map is b, and so on.
Zones are z in the lower right corner, a second aura on the map is y, and so on.
All possible combinations of auras and zones in the same square results in a number in the lower right corner.

Map description:
A wide stream runs through the map on the right side. Crags in the bottom center make the terrain impossible to enter. There is a small tower on the left side where ranged attackers get a better purchase at their targets.

Custom Map Key:
Walls w: Scalable walls on the tower that take a standard action and an athletics check of 25 to climb.
